No exceptional justification has been provided for siting the proposal in this unsustainable location, nor has any evidence been submitted to demonstrate that alternative, more sustainable sites are unsuitable or unavailable. The development would therefore result in an over-reliance on the private car to meet day-to-day needs, amounting to unsustainable development, contrary to Policies S2, D7 and D28 of the Sedgemoor Local Plan 2011-2032 and the sustainable development principles of the National Planning Policy Framework.
