A wall has recently been constructed within the root protection area of two of the horse chestnut trees (T5 and T6). Noted that building materials, including a skip have been placed within the root protection area of T3 and T4). The planning conditions on this site required the fencing off of the trees to prevent root compaction and damage for the duration of the development. This appears not to have taken place. IMr Evans asked to request his tree expert to contact JAB as soon as possible to discuss; • the impact of the recent works and • a future monitoring programme to provide a continued assessment of the health of the protected trees. Made aware there will be a requirement for the trees to be replaced with substantial replacements should they deteriorate in health. 19/12/2013 - JAB checked site - materials have been moved from underneath trees.
