The proposed alterations to this outbuilding, by reason of their  size and scale and the addition of a large box dormer projection with extensive glazing at first floor, would fail to deliver a high quality design solution that responds positively to the character of the application site and wider area.  As such the proposal would have an unacceptable visual impact on the character of the site and wider area contrary to policy D2 Sedgemoor Local Plan 2011-2032.

By virtue of the size, scale and design of the proposed extension and lack of evidence regarding the setting of the listed building, the proposal fails to demosntrate a respect for the historic value and architectural intregrity of the heritage asset or maintain a harmonious apperance in sclae, mass and bulk and as such is considered contrary to policy WED5 Wedmore Neighbourhood Development Plan and policy D26 Sedgemoor Local Plan 2011-2032.
