The proposal is contrary to paragraphs 108, 109 and 110 of the National Planning Policy Framework and policies D13 and D14 of the Sedgemoor Local Plan 2011-2032 since the increase in the use of the existing sub-standard junction of Shortlands Lane with the B3151, by reason of its severely restricted visibility in both directions and inability to accommodate two-way vehicle movements, is considered unsuitable for the additional traffic generated by the proposed development, and would therefore be prejudicial to highway safety.
