The proposal by reason of the projection of development into the countryside beyond the established local pattern of development would result in an alien and intrusive form and layout of development when viewed from the adjoining properties and public points of view available from the footpaths to the north and east As such the proposal would neither relate well to, nor complement, the existing built form of the settlement and would not be appropriate to the character, physical identity and context of this part of Spaxton and would have a significant adverse impact on the local landscape character and scenic qualities on the rural setting of the settlement to the unacceptable detriment of the visual amenities of the locality. As such the proposal is contrary to policies T3a, D2 and D19 of the Sedgemoor Local Plan.
