The proposed development seeks prior approval for the erection of a single-story extension. The proposal extends 3.5m from the side of the dwelling and does not constitute permitted development by a larger home extension which relates to rear extensions by virtue of Schedule 2, Part 1, Class A (g) of The Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015. Given the projection forward of the principle elevation, the side extension would not comply with the limitations set out in the GPDO and a planning application would therefore be required.
